Communitas Supportive Care Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families through person-centered services that promote inclusion, independence, and community engagement. We are seeking an Assistant Manager to support day-to-day operations, staff coordination, and service delivery within our organization.

This position is ideal for an emerging leader who enjoys coaching staff, improving processes, and helping ensure high-quality services are delivered to clients and stakeholders.

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager works closely with the Manager to oversee daily operations, support employees, coordinate administrative activities, and help ensure organizational objectives are achieved. The successful candidate will assist with staff supervision, operational planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager in overseeing daily departmental operations
  • Assist with staff scheduling, workload coordination, and resource allocation
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training activities
  • Monitor operational performance and assist with reporting requirements
  • Ensure organizational policies and procedures are followed
  • Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist with budget monitoring and expense tracking
  • Respond to client, employee, and stakeholder inquiries
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare reports, and maintain documentation
  • Assist in implementing organizational projects and strategic initiatives
  • Act as a leadership resource in the Manager’s absence

Qualifications

Required

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Human Services, Social Services, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory, team lead, or management experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience coordinating teams and managing competing priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Eligibility to work in Canada

Preferred

  • Experience working in nonprofit, healthcare, community services, or social services environments
  • Experience with budgeting, reporting, and operational planning
  • Experience using HRIS, scheduling, or case management systems
  • Knowledge of employment standards and workplace health and safety requirements
