Communitas Supportive Care Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families through person-centered services that promote inclusion, independence, and community participation. We are seeking an experienced Information Technology (IT) Manager to oversee the organization’s technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems administration, and technology strategy.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient technology services that support employees, programs, and organizational operations.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the IT Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s information technology systems and infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead technology initiatives, manage vendors, oversee cybersecurity practices, and provide technical leadership across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Operations

  • Manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, and business applications
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of technology systems
  • Monitor and maintain hardware, software, and telecommunications systems
  • Develop and maintain technology documentation and procedures
  • Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and technology deployments

Cybersecurity and Risk Management

  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies and controls
  • Monitor systems for security vulnerabilities and threats
  • Manage user access controls and data protection practices
  • Coordinate cybersecurity awareness and training initiatives
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning

Technical Support

  • Oversee end-user support services and help desk activities
  • Resolve escalated technical issues and system incidents
  • Ensure timely and effective support for employees and departments
  • Identify opportunities to improve user experience and technology adoption

Technology Strategy and Projects

  • Develop and implement technology plans aligned with organizational objectives
  • Lead technology projects, system implementations, and process improvements
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers

Leadership and Administration

  • Supervise IT staff, contractors, and technology consultants
  • Manage departmental budgets and technology expenditures
  • Establish performance standards and service level expectations
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for senior leadership

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments
  • Experience supporting Windows-based systems and business applications
  • Knowledge of networking, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and systems administration
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Eligibility to work in Canada

Preferred

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional, CISSP, ITIL, or related credentials
  • Experience supporting nonprofit, healthcare, social services, or community services organizations
  • Experience with SharePoint, Azure, cloud-based platforms, and enterprise software systems
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation and information security best practices
  • Experience managing technology vendors and contracts

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Day shift
  • Occasional evening or weekend work for system maintenance and technology projects
  • On-call availability for critical system issues as required
